Emily's Testimony:

The Lord has always been so good. No matter what season I am in, He has provided so clearly.

I grew up in church and was very involved. My parents served, and I went to all the special events, Wednesdays, Sundays, all of it. Though I always knew the Lord and what Jesus did for me, I still didn’t fully get it. I didn’t realize how personal it was to me. But as I grew and matured, so did my relationship with the Lord. I got to see how much He cared for me personally, how intentional He is about my life, and how He cares about the things I care about.

I started taking His Word seriously and applying it to my life. I would pray for His goodness to shine through, and then I would see it happen.

My husband and I met when we were very young, and I know it was for a purpose. God knew I needed a partner to get through such a scary time in my life. I developed anxiety and struggled for many years, and I still do. I didn’t know what was wrong with me or how to fix it. Even when we were just little middle schoolers, my now-husband was there for me. As we grew up, we both pushed each other to focus on God. He is the very foundation of our relationship and our lives.

I had no reason to be anxious. Nothing in my life was stressful or going wrong. I was just anxious, and I couldn’t figure out why. Now that I’m deeper in my faith, I still get scared. Anxiety attacks and bad days still come. But I know now that the power of Christ is stronger than any of my fears, and who knows what my life would look like if I didn’t know that today?

Jesus has shown up for such big things in my life, but even more importantly, He has shown up for the LITTLE THINGS. You’re telling me that not only does He care about the big things in my personal life, but He cares about ALL OF IT?

I have had a lot of high hopes in life. I met my husband early, had this crazy dream to do van life, wanted to skip college and be a photographer, and I got to do all of it because the Lord knew my intentions and that I would always do my very best to put Him first.

Sometimes He closes doors for me. If I put something too high up on a pedestal, I pray that He brings it down, and He does. There have been very hard seasons in Matt’s and my life, but we always see the other side. Even in the middle of the tunnel, we know there is light, and that light is JESUS.

The world can be so dark and evil, but the Lord is so bright and innocent. He gives us hope and promises new life to everyone who wants it. Jesus CHOSE to die on the cross because He had YOU in His mind and heart. How cool is that?
